Parlow Associates was established in 2002, not as yet another small accountancy firm, but specifically with small business financial management in mind. Not concerned with company audits, complex tax issues or financial advice, but with the needs of small businesses at the core of what we offer.

The principal of Parlow Associates is Ian Parker. He is a Chartered Accountant, an experienced Financial Director and Managing Director. With particular experience of family owned small-medium sized businesses, he was with a privately owned £25m.turnover group for the 14 years to 2002, was Managing Director for the last 5 of these, and after a restructuring, became MD of its £6m. manufacturing business. Within this role, he was responsible for growing and developing the business and implementing a strategic plan to build shareholder wealth.

He founded Parlow Associates to use his wealth of experience to assist small growing businesses in the area of financial management. His financial background is complemented by strengths in people management and driving forward projects. He has a passion for delivering results through organised planning and improving business performance by identifying weaknesses, analysing a company's performance through the production of relevant, accurate and timely management information and "making it happen".

He aims to be very hands-on within the businesses he helps, working as part of the businesses "team" - in effect, a part-time Financial Director.
